Job description, responsibilities and duties

  • Developing algorithms for retrieval, ingest and analysis of geostationary satellite imagery and for modelling of solar irradiance based on satellite and other data

  • Participating in an upcoming applied research project focused on improving our nowcasting service

  • Contributing to an overall improvement of quality, timeliness, resilience and other aspects of the models and services derived from satellite data

  • Testing, deployment and monitoring of operational software/services

  • Code and data maintenance, management

  • Cooperation with other team members in the spirit of consistent and agile development

  • Stay up to date on trends in the field and company priorities

2 400 EUR/month salary can be higher, depending on the working experience

  • Solid programming capabilities in Python, writing clean and structured code

  • Degree and/or relevant work experience in the Geo/Earth/Planetary sciences (such as remote sensing, atmospheric science, meteorology)

  • Solid experience with spatio-temporal array data manipulation (e.g. NumPy)

  • Some experience with bash / Linux terminal

  • Good grasp for detail, diligence and accomplishment

  • Innovative thinking, forward looking, team spirit, focus on customer

  • English - Upper intermediate (B2)
